I have been a fan of ruth rae's for a long time...
her art work is beautiful & has inspired me in many ways,
who would have thought you could break all the rules
and sew on paper let alone sew outside the lines!
ruth has an article in the new SEW somerset magazine
that was calling me to the challenge...
and challenge it was but the results are wonderful!
it took alot of time, a little practice and alot of patience
(this was my first attempt at sewing words...)
the calendar pieces I purchased from
yes I made a few...
you can see her article in the upper left hand corner...
I attached a locket to the front that I aged and monogramed
just one of the pages of envelopes...

Beautiful Connie! I tried free motion sewing (writing, drawing, etc) on fabric many years ago. I love that it doesn't take long to learn and it was a ton of fun. I'll have to check out the magazine.
I love Ruth as well and I do remember that article. You did a fabulous job at creating your own pieces. I love that look of free motion sewing and it's fun too.
